Drayton Valley History
Drayton Valley is a relatively new town, but it has grown quickly to become one of Alberta’s key oil boomtowns. Incorporated in 1957, Drayton Valley has its roots in the Pembina Oil Fields. Our town may have started with only 75 settlers, but it has quickly grown to be the home of over 6,200 hard-working Albertans. Today, we take pride in being the seat of the Brazeau Municipal District.
